 Blog Reflection

Multimedia can be found everywhere in our society today. New technology is increasing people’s ability to learn through the eyes of multimedia. Multimedia can be defined generically as any combination of two or more media such as sound, images, text, animation, and video. For educational technology purposes, multimedia refers to computer-based systems that use associative linkages to allow users to navigate and retrieve information stored in a combination of text, sounds, graphics, video, and other media. Multimedia literacy is a growing concern among educators as American society continues to depend on image technologies such as television, video, and film. Educators need to prepare children to live and function in a society that relies on multimedia for information storage and dissemination. As a leader in my Sunday school department we focus on making learning a blast for kids. My job as a leader focus on teaching kids how important technology is importance.

Leaders can learn about how to incorporate these media in his or her class. I found that using visual make student eager to learn. When bright colors are being displayed on screen it makes them attend tent to what they are watching on a screen as a group. You will get more response to your question by incorporating different technology for learning. Multimedia can be used in instruction in a variety of creative and stimulating ways. Applications include teacher presentations, student projects, and discovery learning. Although teachers are encouraged to develop their own materials, many excellent educational multimedia products are also
 available.

Literature Review Wiki Contribution Blog

When I was first introduce to Wiki in Educ 639 I found it to be confusing while trying to meet its challenges that lies ahead. This experience has been one of my greatest accomplish ever. While the purposes of Wiki were design to help users understand when collaborating with peers or friends. This social media tools allow great interaction among people who love to learn to create, share, and exchange vital information and ideas in a networks. It introduces ways that students can work together and to solved problem. It connects ones ideals with others so that the learning process can produce clearer work.  When using Wiki you can add your personal touch to question alone with sharing and connecting with other question. When using Wiki I had the opportunity to contribute to the Wiki literature review assignment. During this time with my fellow classmate I took part in sharing my reference to be produce in the overall assignment.

This technology do create a sold platforms through which individuals and networks can co-create, share and modify how users can generate valuable content through the use of Wiki. However wiki also produce and introduce substantial and pervasive changes between different individuals as well as different communities. My group as a whole has contributed great information on putting this project together. Not saying that it has not got bumpy at times but everybody is sticking it out likes though soldiers. I am so grateful to be working with my peers on finishing up on this assignment. This project causes for much dedication on working through every step to see the fishing product at the end.

I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to have this experience in using wiki for a social media. I am still learning to use Wiki and my skills are not perfect but still learning from this experience. I believe that this would be a great tool for others teachers alone with students to use. If teachers are looking for a great social media tool I would introduce Wiki for their class. Their students would enjoy the avenue of building social skill. With social skills you will be able to facilitate interaction and communication with outer people. When you relate with others people or be able to work in large groups can and will develops one’s communications skills. In my learning process I will not leave with empty hands but will take every skill that I have learning from using Wiki social media.

Identifying Ethical, Legal, and Theological Issues in Educational Technology

Identifying Ethical, Legal, and Theological Issues in Educational Technology

Understanding the muddiest point or overview may be unclear to some than others. It was clear on how Dr. David Brown explain the different term by breaking down the information for the students can learn how importance the information is. He explain some terms like plagiarism and security breach  that is taking place through the use of technology and computers. Plagiarism is the act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author: I believe that students need to learn more about plagiarism and why it is importance not to steal or take any information that is not his or hers. However the do’s and don’ts rules needs to be applied and enforce.  Dr. Tyler Veak explains the copyright information and why it is required by law.  Copyright law is the law that provides creators of original work the exclusive rights to it. Copyright is applicable to both material property (like consumer products) and intellectual property (like literary works). One thing that was muddiest or unclear to me was the copyright myths. Everything on the web can be used without permission. Just to think how some of these myths did started is unclear and where did they get their information from.

A New Age of Digital Learning Theory

A New Age of Digital Learning Theory

What is Theory?

Theory explains how some aspect of human behavior or performance is organized. It thus enables us to make predictions about behavior. Theory provides concepts to name what we observe and to explain relationships between concepts. Theory allows us to explain what we see and to figure out how to bring about change. Theory is a tool that enables us to identify a problem and to plan a means for altering the situation. In the instructional environments we learned that there are three broad learning theories behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. Behaviorism as we know started in the very first part of the twenty century through various animal learning experiments.  This behaviorism was considered then to be the theoretical frame work. When I began to look at the word constructivist along it remind me that learning along can point toward many teaching practices. However I must say that students must be encourage in learning how to use different techniques in his or her experiment, problem solving to create more knowledge and then reflects on how their understanding is changing.

Perhaps years ago these terms may have been limited in different ways of meaning. There was a time where these learning theories did not impact the uses of technology. However now over the last twenty years, we are able to communicate, how we live, and how we learned through technology. The theories and Learning needs should be describe as learning principles and how it is process, also should reflect the underlying social environments. According to Vaill emphasizes that “learning must be a way of being-an ongoing set of attitudes and actions by individuals and groups that employ to try to keep abreast of surprising, novel, messy, obtrusive, recurring events…”(1996, P.42). How would this framework or theory be used in research you plan to complete in the future? These framework will be incorporated in my research plan to corporate what theory is best to used and what is not good for a learning environment.
